It is amazing how babies seem to be tiny for so long and then all of the sudden, their baby features become childlike. Easton will be turning one in about a month and while I know his momma is excited to celebrate, she is holding onto those sweet baby features.
And while this wasn’t part of our planned photos, I adore the backlighting and reflecting in this last photo. Happy (almost) first birthday little guy.

allowing little feet to jump on Nana’s bed and laughing at his delight
I am so thrilled for these two. They are due to have a baby in the next two weeks and they are simply beaming. You can honestly feel their excitement and nerves. And that is what is so incredible about it all – they are going to be fantastic parents because they love so deeply and are going to work so hard at it.
We walked about four miles (felt like four, reality says it was probably half a mile) to get these photos. Caroline wanted to capture a spot in DC that they really love and I hope we did it justice. We had an overcast day but somehow the rain held off just long enough for us.
Congratulations Caroline (and Mark too!) – I am so happy for you and cannot wait to meet your little one!! Also we crushed the dessert you made us because we’re heathens and eat chocolate for breakfast.
